Veteran. Deputy Sheriff. Public Servant.
Tony’s top priorities are to reduce gun violence, provide our police with the proper training and resources, and restore basic city services.
Message from Tony Kirchner
Welcome, and thank you for visiting! I ran for Alderman two years ago and narrowly lost, and over the last two years countless residents have urged me to run again. But I’m not running again just because I almost won last time, I’m running because I believe our city is on the wrong track, that the current leadership at City Hall needs to prioritize all the citizens of St. Louis. Now more than ever we have an opportunity, and the money, to change the trajectory of our city.
I’ve dedicated my entire career to serving others. It began with four years in the United States Navy aboard the USS George H.W. Bush aircraft carrier. After completing my service, I returned to St. Louis and joined the Sheriff’s Department, where I’ve proudly served as a Deputy Sheriff for 12 years.
Throughout my time in public service, I’ve taken on many roles. Today, I specialize in Crisis Intervention for those facing mental health challenges, serving as the department’s Crisis Intervention Instructor. Nearly every day, we’re called upon to help people in crisis, and I’ve seen firsthand how patience, persistence, and small steps can lead to big change.
The one thing I’ve learned is this: the real work doesn’t make headlines or go viral on social media. It’s about showing up, doing the job, and grinding every day—no glory, no fanfare, but real results that make a difference in people’s lives.
Now, I’m ready to bring that same dedication to the First Ward as your Alderman. Our city has an opportunity to move forward, but we can’t waste time on more studies or endless plans. We need action:
Fixing our streets, alleys, water mains, parks and public infrastructure.
Addressing vacant houses and homelessness on a regional level.
Supporting and holding accountable our first responders.
The solutions to our challenges are right in front of us. We need leaders who will seize this moment, show up, and do the work. That’s the commitment I’m making to you.
I’m Tony Kirchner, and I’m running to be a full-time Alderman for the First Ward. Day in and day out, I’ll work tirelessly to earn your trust, your respect, and your vote.
Thank you for your support and belief in a stronger, better St. Louis. Let’s build a brighter future together!

P.S. you can read some of my policy positions that have not changed since the last election and I will be rolling out more over the coming campaign. I look forward to a spirited and civil debate about the future of our city.
